Abstract

The growing demand for sustainable and ethically responsible supply chains has prompted organizations to seek innovative solutions for transparency and accountability. Blockchain technology, with its decentralized, immutable, and verifiable ledger system, has emerged as a transformative tool in this context. This study explores the role of blockchain in enhancing transparency and traceability within sustainable supply chains, focusing on its effectiveness in verifying sustainability claims and ensuring ethical sourcing. It also examines the technological and organizational challenges that hinder blockchain adoption and evaluates its contribution toward advancing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) compliance and the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs). By analyzing current practices and case studies, the research provides insights into how blockchain can build trust among stakeholders, strengthen accountability, and promote long-term sustainability in global supply chains.
