The present study, titled "A Study on the Awareness About Self-Help Group Among its Members With Special Reference to HDFC Bank, Ambattur” explores the level of awareness among Self-Help Group (SHG) members regarding banking procedures and government schemes. The research specifically investigates whether SHG members understand the process of obtaining loans from banks and the intended purpose of such loans. A key objective is to assess the extent of their awareness about microfinance and banking terms and conditions. Additionally, the study aims to identify the effectiveness and reach of current government schemes available to SHGs. Primary data was collected through a structured questionnaire from a sample of 52 SHG members in Ambattur, supported by information from local panchayat offices, newspapers, and magazines. The analysis was conducted using a percentage model. The findings indicate that whether SHG members in Ambattur show a strong understanding of banking terms and conditions, their awareness of government schemes remains limited.
